About the Role
Trilogy Innovations is seeking a Subject Matter Expert to remotely support our federal customer in Bridgeport, WV. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team, while taking part in a multi-year initiative to modernize our customer's large-scale IT systems.
This team's primary objective is the software development and maintenance of the customer's legacy mainframe application and services (online and batch). The current environment consists of IBM x14 mainframes, zOS operating system, CICS, DB2, Cobol and Java.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science or related field)
Prior experience in a subject matter expert (SME) participating in all phases of software development and maintenance of mainframe applications and services (online and batch)
Experience participating in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases
Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, teams, customers, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders
Technical Capabilities:
Operating system(s): zOS, Linux
Mainframes: CICS, DB2
Languages: Cobol and Java
Job Description
Serves as subject matter expert, possessing in-depth knowledge of a particular area, such as business, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the various sciences.
Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
Participates as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases.
Applies principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific TO requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions.
This team will be responsible for the following activities:
Primary objective is the software development and maintenance of the customer's legacy mainframe application and services (online and batch)
Currently this environment consists of IBM x14 mainframes, zOS operating system, CICS, DB2, Cobol and Java.
Software development specific to XML supporting external government customers
Development and delivery of unity tests and automated tests
