Building More Than Experience: Inside Trilogy's 2026 Summer Internship Program

When the members of Trilogy's 2026 Summer Internship Cohort arrived, they were tasked with more than learning how the company operates, they were challenged to identify opportunities, solve problems, and create something meaningful. Several weeks later, they've done exactly that.

From collaborating with departments across the organization to earning industry certifications and developing a company-wide AI Sandbox, this year's cohort has already made a lasting impact. And with several weeks remaining in the program, its biggest accomplishments may still be ahead.

The summer began with onboarding focused on Scrum and Agile methodologies, followed by conversations with teams across finance, business operations, business development, technical operations, people operations, and the executive team. Those discussions helped the cohort identify real business challenges and opportunities for innovation, eventually leading to a clear conclusion: Trilogy needed more than a single AI tool. It needed a space where employees could learn, experiment, and build confidence with AI.

That insight became the foundation for the cohort’s capstone project: a company-wide AI Sandbox designed to help employees strengthen AI skills, improve prompting techniques, and discover automation opportunities across the organization. Over the past several weeks, the interns have been developing tools such as Prompt Grader, Output Match Challenge, and Trilogy Automates while working closely with Trilogy leaders and mentors to bring the vision to life.

Nate Blackman, who has helped lead development of the Prompt Grader user interface and its integration into Confluence, is excited to see the project continue to grow throughout the remainder of the summer.

"By the end of the internship, I hope we complete the entire application (Prompt Grader, Output Match Challenge, Trilogy Automates) and see it begin to be used throughout the company. I've enjoyed working along my intern cohort, developing the AI Sandbox and creating something meaningful for the company from scratch."

Beyond the project work itself, the cohort has embraced the opportunity to learn from professionals across the company. Through mentorship, team collaboration, and exposure to different business functions, the interns have gained valuable insight into how technology, operations, and strategy come together to support growth and innovation.

Damien Stone noted that the support and guidance provided by mentors have been among the most valuable aspects of his experience.

"My mentor, as well as all of our mentors really, have helped me a great deal in guiding my direction with my work and making the workspace feel welcoming and like what I am doing matters."

The group has also reached a major milestone in its professional development journey. Earlier this summer, the cohort became the first internship group in Trilogy history to achieve a 100% AWS Cloud Practitioner certification pass rate. Rather than stopping there, each intern has committed to pursuing an additional certification, continuing to expand their technical knowledge and skill sets throughout the remainder of the program.

For Sofia Filgueira, whose work has focused heavily on troubleshooting and building out Trilogy Automates, the opportunity to apply classroom learning to real-world business challenges has been especially rewarding.

"I'm enjoying being able to do something that is going to help the company, and also that is helping me learn how to actually apply technical concepts."

Greeshma Yadlapalli echoed that sentiment, highlighting both the professional growth opportunities and the company culture she has experienced during her time at Trilogy.

"I'm really beyond grateful for this opportunity with Trilogy. It's been the best experience for my professional career, and I'm really glad to have experienced such a welcoming, good, and balanced workplace culture."

While the first half of the internship has been filled with learning, collaboration, and meaningful accomplishments, the journey is far from over. Over the coming weeks, the cohort will continue refining the AI Sandbox, pursuing additional certifications, and preparing to present the capstone project to Trilogy leadership.

What makes this year's cohort stand out isn't just what its members have accomplished, it's how they approached the challenge. Through curiosity, collaboration, initiative, and a willingness to learn, the interns have embraced opportunities to leave a lasting impact on the organization while continuing to grow as professionals.

We're proud of everything they've achieved so far and excited to see what comes next.

We'll be sharing a final look at the cohort's work at the conclusion of the program, including the results of the capstone project, lessons learned throughout the summer, and the impact of the AI Sandbox across the organization. Stay tuned to see how their work evolves and how this year's interns turn a summer of learning into something that lasts well beyond the internship experience.
