From Ideas to Impact: Trilogy's 2026 Internship Cohort Showcases Final Capstone Project

At the start of the program, Trilogy's 2026 Summer Internship Cohort set out to solve a challenge: how could AI become more accessible, practical, and approachable for employees across the organization? Throughout the summer, the cohort worked to answer that question by developing an AI Sandbox designed to help employees learn, experiment, and build confidence with emerging technologies.

Now, as the program comes to a close, that vision has become a reality.

To celebrate the conclusion of the internship experience, the cohort recently hosted an interactive Capstone Exhibition at the WVU Innovation Corporation space. The event gave Trilogy employees, community partners, and guests an opportunity to experience the AI Sandbox firsthand and see the interns' work in action.

The exhibition began with a brief overview of the AI Sandbox project before attendees enjoyed lunch and connected with the students. Guests then had the opportunity to meet with each intern individually, explore demonstrations, and learn more about the tools, games, and automations developed throughout the summer

Earlier in the program, the cohort identified a need for more than a single AI tool. They envisioned a centralized environment where employees could strengthen prompting skills, explore AI technologies, and discover practical automation opportunities. That vision became the foundation of the AI Sandbox, which was showcased during the capstone exhibition.

Throughout the event, attendees explored a variety of tools and experiences designed to encourage hands-on learning. Demonstrations included Trilogy Automates, the AI Prompt Grader, the Output Match tool, and the AI Arcade, each created to help employees better understand and engage with artificial intelligence in meaningful ways.

The exhibition also gave the interns an opportunity to share their technical approaches, discuss lessons learned throughout the development process, and highlight the collaboration required to bring the project to life. From designing automations to building interactive learning experiences, the cohort demonstrated how an idea first identified during early conversations with teams across the company evolved into a functional resource that can continue supporting innovation at Trilogy.

The Capstone Exhibition represented the culmination of a summer filled with learning, professional growth, and meaningful accomplishments. Along the way, the interns collaborated with teams across the organization, learned from mentors, earned industry certifications, and developed solutions designed to create lasting value for the company.

While the AI Sandbox stands as an impressive achievement, the exhibition highlighted something even more meaningful: the growth of the students behind it. Over the course of twelve weeks, the cohort evolved from interns eager to learn into contributors delivering solutions that can benefit the organization well beyond the summer.

As the 2026 internship program concludes, Trilogy is proud of everything this year's cohort has accomplished. Through curiosity, collaboration, and a willingness to embrace new challenges, Sofia Filgueira, Damien Stone, Greeshma Yadlapalli, and Nate Blackman have demonstrated the impact that talented students can make when given the opportunity to turn ideas into action.
